JJ Jacob
Jonathan, known by many as “J. J.”, is a
second-generation minister whose father converted from Judaism to
Christianity following his family's escape from Germany during World
War II. Growing up in Meridian, MS, JJ became a three sports star at
West Lauderdale High School where he lettered in baseball,
basketball, and football. In his senior season, he
received the Defensive Player of the
Year award.
However, during his high school years, JJ allowed his passion for God to get detoured and found himself immersed in a culture of drugs and alcohol. At the age of 19, JJ would make the most important decision of his life to radically and unashamedly accept Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and instantly he was delivered from the lifestyle of drugs and alcohol!
Upon surrendering his life to Christ,
he was called to the full-time ministry and eventually would
graduate from Southwestern Assemblies of God University in
Waxahachie, TX (www.sagu.edu)
with a Bachelor of Science degree in Church Ministries, earning a
specialization in Youth Ministry.
While at SAGU, JJ was an all-conference football player at
cornerback, as well as playing safety, punt returner, and special
teams.
