The flood (Gen 7) brought both destruction & unity. It carried in it's forceful flow both judgment & salvation; finality & promise. The only determinate as to which the inhabitants of the earth would receive was the foundation of their soul. Jesus spoke of this sure foundation in Mt 7:25, "and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.". In the storms of life, take comfort in knowing that not even the waves that destroyed the earth were powerful enough to even dampen the feet of God's chosen. If your rock is Christ then he's still your ark!
