The word for the season I've been led by Holy Spirit into is "better". 

I feel like I've always known that obedience is better than sacrifice thanks to King Saul taking that blow for me long ago, but I'm learning in a new way how much better He is than how I've known Him. 

His presence is better than His blessings. His new covenant is better than the old. His promise of tomorrow is far better than the very best of yesteryear. His kiss of correction is better than if He were just silently permissive. To know Him in the fellowship of His sufferings is better than achieving the riches of the world. To sit at His feet is better than being busy. To hear His whisper is better than to feel Him shake the earth. To hear HIM say, "Well done tho good and faithful servant" is better than receiving the praises of all men! To know He's with me in the shadow of death is better than having been spared a journey through the shadow. To be absent from the body is to be with the Lord and that's so much better than relishing in the riches of this world. To pick up my cross daily and follow Him is better than taking ownership of my own life and pursuing my passions. One day in the house of the Lord is better than 1000's elsewhere. His glory awaiting us is better than the glory we've seen thus far. 

He is better! Let His name be praised!

Psalms 96:11-13
11Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fullness thereof.
12Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice
